Dicks at Columbia

A celebration of the phallus in all its forms on the campus of Columbia University. This blog's goal is to catalog every dick on Columbia's campus.

This is NOT a pornographic website (and is therefore SFW). There are a million other places for porn; if you're here looking to rub one out, you've come to the wrong place.

Got pictures of campus dicks? Send them to dicksatcolumbia@gmail.com

Alma Mater

Amazing. After quite a long period of inactivity (due to both the onslaught of schoolwork and a lack of tipster submissions), I received in my inbox one of the best snow penises I have ever seen. Its placement gives it a sort of ambiguity that lends itself to multiple interpretations. Is Alma reading a dirty, yet upside-down, pop-up book?  Is she using her book as a platform for a snow-dildo of sorts? Or does the book contain a large hole through which a well-endowed Alma, blessed with both impressive penis length and an excess of scrotal skin, placed her own snowy junk? The world may never know.

Reverend Dr. M. Morgan Weston II Plaza (did you know it was called that?), a.k.a. the lawn in front of John Jay
First tipster submission!  I’m glad to see that the snow penis is alive and well on our campus.  Though this one is notably in 2D, our artists did the best with what little snowfall we had last night.  The next snowstorm we have, however, I expect to see some 3D dicks out there.

How could I have left this out until just now?  This is probably one of the most recognizable phallic symbols on our campus.  I was going to go and take a picture of this myself, but I wanted to show this thing in action and didn’t want to wait months for the weather to get warm.
Who designed these fountains, anyway?  Does anyone know?  Whoever it is, I’m picturing him at his desk holding the request for a fountain design, sitting there naked and searching for a stroke of genius, when suddenly it hits him…

near John Jay and built by residents of John Jay 11, photo taken circa December 2009
This particular dick, like any good erection, is transitory in nature – if you don’t agree, you should probably see a doctor.  Part of a long, solid tradition (broken only in 2007, when our campus was presumably too busy hunger-striking), the Snow Penis of 2009 was one of the better ones in recent history, though 2006’s erect member is also noteworthy.
PS: Hi Bwog, thanks for the link! And a hearty welcome to all you new readers out there. Don’t forget to tip!

carrel in the Engineering Library
Sure, this isn’t an actual penis, but the replacement of “BEHAVIOR” to “BONER” evokes such giggle-inducing imagery that it earns a place here.

vending machine in East Campus
This one may be hard to see.  Someone took a Sharpie to the clear plastic but made no attempt to account for the fact that the multicolored background would make it difficult to capture on camera.  Hopefully the artist takes this advice to heart, because I truly would like to see more of his (or her?) work.

I’m not sure if this was intentional, but then again, Italians do have a history of phallic symbols.  Be Italian…

along the Law School wall facing SIPA
This is the picture that inspired this website.  It’s simple, stylistic, and sort of clever.
(As people have pointed out, this is from the Australian TV series Summer Heights High.  I saw an episode of this a while back and can’t believe I didn’t recognize it!)
